1965 Fender Bassman Amp AA165 Blackface w/Matching 2×12″ Piggyback Cab

This is one of those listings that comes along once in a long while, a 1965 Fender Bassman AA165 Blackface in full matching piggyback configuration, and quite simply the cleanest example we have ever come across. Collectors Grade, all original, and absolutely stunning.

The early 1965 Bassman sits at one of the most fascinating moments in Fender history. The AA165 circuit lands right between the AA864 and the hotter AB165, a transitional gem in its own right. All transformers are original: the power transformer is a 125P7A date-coded to 1962 (correct and common), with the remaining two stamped 1965. The amp retains virtually everything it left the factory with, including its original two-prong power cord. The only changes are the power on/off and standby switches. Beyond that and a fresh set of NOS RCA and Sovtek tubes installed during a recent service, this amp is completely untouched. It sounds exactly as it should.

The matching 2×12″ piggyback cabinet is in impeccable shape, with both original Oxford speakers present, matched, and date-coded to 1965. Comes with the original connecting pins and two tilt legs. A complete, correct, matching set as Fender built it.

We ship this right: split into two separate boxes, professional packing materials, fully insured. Shipping is available at cost. Local pickup in Los Angeles is also welcome. Priced to sell, and these don’t surface often in this condition. If you know, you know.
